Throughout history, large breeds have been bred for strength or speed, resulting in two fundamentally different body types: robust and athletic. Recent research has shown that these two body types have very different characteristics that influence nutrient requirements even during the growth process. For example, robust large breeds tend to have more body fat and benefit from lower calorie intake to prevent them from becoming fatter. For their part, athletic large breeds expend more energy in daily activities and therefore require a high-energy diet. Large, athletic breeds use more energy than robust breeds, even when resting.

Puppy Large Robust is specifically tailored to the special nutritional needs of large puppies (> 25 kg adult weight) aged 2 to 24 months with a robust build. Puppies of hardy large breeds tend to have naturally lower metabolisms (they use less energy) than athletic large breeds. This specially adapted food supports a robust physique.

With colostrum, the first breast milk rich in natural antibodies and proven* to help strengthen the immune response and complement the protection he received from his mother. It also ensures a balance of good and bad bacteria in the puppy's intestines, helping to combat common ailments in the puppy phase.

Nutrition during weaning and growth
In the first three weeks of life, the mother covers all of the puppy's nutritional needs. Give the puppy a portion of PRO PLAN® Puppy diluted with water 3 to 4 times a day for the next three to six weeks. As soon as the puppy stops sucking, give the recommended amount. After three months, gradually add less water. A slim body shape during the growth process is important for healthy development.
Increase or decrease the recommended daily amount by 10-15% depending on the living conditions, activity level and physical condition of the puppy.
